A Trendy New Year!

by Nicole

December 31, 2009

We thought today was an appropriate time to offer a brief blog round-up of trends  in flowers and decorating, as our way of waving goodbye to the year past and moving forward into 2010.

Tulips might be just the ticket for Valentine's Day this year! [Image: Teleflora's Radiantly Red Tulips

AboutFlowers.com takes a look at trends for Valentine's Day flowers this year - and they're calling for rose alternatives like tulips (a very appropriately named flower for a romantic holiday!) to be big in 2010.  Make sure to plan ahead this year, as well, since Valentine's Day falls on Sunday, making last minute purchases a bit tricky since most delivery services (such as UPS or FedEx) don't have Sunday delivery and many stores don't have Sunday hours.

eInvite and their clued in design team blog about Pantone's color of the year... I won't ruin the surprise so you'll want to visit them to check it out and see just how they're incorporating the color into invites (and it might spur a few ideas on flowers to boot!)

If you're planning a wedding in 2010,

GetMarried online gives a few tips about wedding trends that you won't want to miss.  I have to say that the trend of the buttercream cake gives me something to look forward to for the wedding season! Wink

And Jeff at TheDecoratingVoice tells us what's 'in' but also provides a little perspective on trends and sticking with what you like, rather than what's hot.

What do you see on the horizon for 2010? Share your predictions and feedback to the trends we shared in our comments section!

No matter what the trends are, though, we're hoping for lots of smiles and shared joy as part of your 2010! Happy New Year!

I really like the way that you show the deluxe and premium bouquets on your website. It makes people more likely to upgrade their flower arrangements.
