Flowers for Father's Day

by Nicole

June 09, 2010

Have you decided to do something a little different for Dad this year? You've tried ties, tools and T-shirts, but you want to do something with a bit more 'feeling' this year.

{Dads like flowers, too!}

Flowers are a great way of showing Dad how much he means to you! And they're not just for Mom anymore. Flowers bring lasting joy to anyone who receives them, and there's research to back this up!

Researchers from Rutgers University have shown that people who receive flowers as a gift are happier and more friendly, as compared to their reaction with other gifts (in the Rutger's study a pen was used as the alternate gift). And that's for both genders!

So, if you're looking to really give Dad a boost of happiness with your Father's Day gift, look no further than flowers. And if you're sending flowers, be sure that you send them arranged and in a keepsake that Dad can keep and use or enjoy later, too. Teleflora's highlighting a few 'guy friendly' arrangements, such as the classic '48 Ford Pick-up bouquet (pictured above) or the calm and cool Bamboo collection.
