Halloween decorating - my best intentions...

by Nicole

October 21, 2009

I love the idea of holiday decorating, and with only 10 days until Halloween I'm so excited, looking at all of the great decorations available!  I get all googly when I see the projects that all of the crafty gals and ghouls have posted on their decorating and design blogs (ooh, like this cute project from Cathie Filian).  I see these projects, and I get wistful about what I could create with a little time and a hot glue gun.

Then, I go home and dig out the single string of twinkle lights with little bats attached that my mother bought and sent to me in college.  I knock around my storage a little more and find the decorative candy bucket I’ve tucked away.  I get these things out and I set them on a shelf to do something with – then, before I know it, Halloween is gone and I have to pack them back up again.

So, if you’re like me and just can’t find the time to craft a holiday theme and spend a weekend preparing your knick-knacks and stretching cotton over windows for faux spiderwebs, don’t despair, you’re not alone.

And who knows, maybe this year, I’ll let myself off the hook and just order a cute Halloween centerpiece, pick up trick-or-treat candy and let myself enjoy the cute kids who come trick-or-treating, instead of stressing over what I didn’t manage to decorate.
